FAQ
Do you travel, and are your travel fees included in your packages
There is no travel fee if your wedding is located in the Cowichan Valley. I do have a travel fee when I leave the Cowichan Valley, such as beyond Mill bay and beyond Chemainus on Vancouver Island. My average travel charge is $0.58/km from a central point in Duncan. All travel fees are waived if you book a wedding package out of the Cowichan Valley and request an engagement session out of the Cowichan Valley as well. I am broadening my traveling so if you wish to have me, we can discuss a custom package that waives all travel fees.
Do you shoot with flash?
Yes, I know my flash gear well in unlit locations. However, I utilize the natural light more often and much prefer it. I avoid being the one in your face with the bright light while your enjoying the moment.
What is your wedding day approach?
My approach to documenting your wedding day is very natural and authentic. Often you will find me sneaking around almost unseen capturing moments in a more documentary style. During formal portraits I help guide you into beautiful poses without telling you exactly where to place your arm or leg, less stiff and awkward. My work is more storytelling than right in your face "getting the shot"
Do you have a second photographer or assistant?
I do have the option to add on an additional photographer to any wedding package. I have worked with reputable photographers that I would trust to document your day along side. Afterwards your gallery will be created in solely my editing style. Using a second photographer is helpful when you choose to get ready in separate locations further than 15 minutes apart.
When will I receive my wedding gallery?
48 hours after your glorious day you can expect a small collection of sneak peek images so you don't need to wait so long to relive the magic. Your gallery is delivered within 6-10 weeks, carefully edited and retouched so it is ready to treasure forever. Options to add onto your wedding package would be prints, canvases, table books, and memory boxes with USB. With a purchase of a Diamond package, your memory box is complimentary and created with your preferences a few weeks after the wedding busyness.
How far in advance would you recommend booking vendors?
Booking your most prioritized vendors as soon as possible is important - Most vendors are booked out 10-15 months in advance. Popular seasons and weekends fill up the quickest. Booking early ensures that we can secure your date, plan a dreamy engagement session if required, and get to know each other so your day feels effortless and personal from start to finish.
